Hmm... you want me to inspire you... my inspiration is the simple things in life. Whether it be the way the sunshine hits the baby green leaves during springtime, the way winter snow is ghostly luminescent by the light of a full moon, or morning frost crusting the golden brown leaves of autumn, or sprinklers spouting water on kids laughing and screaming with delight at how cold the water is and chasing each other. A butterfly marking a zig zagged path through the air, darting to and fro in such a lazy manner; birds chirping from the tree branches, their sounds cutting through the crisp clean air. Slipping by accident and falling on my butt, or swinging at the park, feeling the wind rush by you, reaching for the sky and falling away from it at the same time. standing in the rain and letting it drip down your face like unshed tears, soaking your hair and clothes, splashing on the sidewalk, the sharp coldness and clouding of visible breath, mist spilling in from the mountains. Watching a squirrel cross the street with an acorn in it's mouth, darting up a tree and safely in it's burrow. Chasing turkeys down the street in your pajamas while making gobble noises (I actually did that not too long ago *giggle*). Playing dress up and cooking up future goals with my best friend. Doing something completely stupid and pointless to make my brothers laugh. Turning on bouncy music and dancing with my landlady's 1 year old granddaughter or taking my landlady's mother to the senior center for lunch with enough patience to have the same conversation over and over again (she's got alzeimers). Or teaching yourself how to build a fire on a cold day. Watching a mother hold her child's hand on the bus, telling a complete stranger hello, making someone you will never see again smile. My inspiration is trying my best to see and appreciate all of the intense beauty in every little daily detail. Think of something that gives you a good feeling, a feeling you don't ever want to let go, and hold onto it. What image does that feeling put in your mind? Or the scent of something, like mexican food or italian food, they make me think of big families with lots of kids running around the house, and laughter, and love. A certain sound? Rain dripping down the drain pipes, it's like listening to the world being cleansed. Or the silence of fresh snow making you feel completely alond in the world with just the crunch of it under your feet to let you know you aren't in a dreamscape.
How is that for inspiration?
